Denver

Well we've lived in Denver for two weeks now! Kinda crazy. In some ways it feels like we've lived here for a lot longer, and in some ways it feels like we're still in Logan. But over all things are going really well here. We've been having a lot of fun exploring the area.
Our first Saturday here we went to Denver Zoo with Chief - Casey and I bought a season pass so come visit us and we can all go to the zoo! While we were there we saw a polar bear try to attack a little boy - thankfully that glass wall works really well.... but that boy sure jumped! It was funny. :)

This is a picture of Chief being Chief. This picture is taken in Outdoor World. Casey's new warehouse in right across the street. If you've ever seen Last Man Standing (and if you haven't, you should) Outdoor World is the same place as Outdoor Man - kinda cool.

This picture is of Thorntonfest.... it's like Summerfest, or Trails West.... but not as good. It was still a lot of fun though. It was good to get out and enjoy a community event. The people of Denver are really into their pets. There are things for dogs to do all over the city. The city pool even has a day for the dogs to come and swim. (kinda gross) So of course Thorntonfest had plenty for dogs including jumping and frisbee catching competitions. They were actually pretty fun to watch.

Well Saturday after Thorntonfest Casey and I decided we needed another adventure so we found a nearby park that said they had a frisbee golf course. We went and checked it out and it turned out to be really cool! It has a legit 18 hole course with cement starting pads for each hole. It had a great view of the city and it was in a beautiful park with a couple of ponds and lots of trees and hills.

And here are some pics of our place. We have vaulted ceilings in the living room, kitchen, and the master bedroom. And there is a sky light in the living room that is so nice to have. Then there are sliding glass doors to our balcony from both the master bedroom and the living room.

So the only downside to our apartment has to do with the photo to the right.... gross huh? Well as I was unpacking I saw a few grease splatters on the wall behind the stove. So I pulled it out to clean it and it just got worse.................. I pulled the stove out all the way and this is the sight I saw. So I called the managers and they sent maintenance up right away. They agreed it needed to be taken care of and apologized. Well I took guy number 2 into the bedroom to show him a problem with the screen and when I got back in the kitchen guy number 1 already had all the grease PAINTED OVER! When I asked if he was going to clean it first (novel concept I know) he seemed really confused. He held up the can and said well this is KILZ - it's meant to cover things up. That's what it's made for. We went a few rounds and he finally said he would clean the wall first. Not that it did much good since he had already painted over 90% of it. When I told the managers the next day how it had been taken care of they couldn't seem to understand what the problem was and kept saying the same thing about how KILZ is meant to cover things up. They didn't seem to think it was necessary to clean the wall first either...... Welp at least that's been our only problem!

Baby Emma

I know you are all waiting for a post about Denver.... but first things first! Baby Emma deserves a few pics. :) She is ADORABLE! She joined our family April 16th 2012. I guess she wanted to be birthday buddies with her uncle Casey. Here are a few pics from her first few weeks of life. I'm soo sad I had to move away from her. I will shortly be adding more photos from the little photo shoot we did with Emma to my photography blog: photographybymillie.blogspot.com/
